  The 90-year-old father in this family, Vicente, lives with his daughter Elizabeth, in Arcadia, Cal. The rest of the family lives across the country in Oakton, Va. and includes Vicente’s son Vic, and Vic’s wife Kalaaya Na (Nanny), plus three granddaughters.

  Harry Davis lives in an urban New York retirement community, Village Care of New York. 

• Dick and Steiner
  

  Henry and Frieda Dick from Edmonton, Alberta, Can. and Clayton and Ruth Steiner, from Kidron Ohio are spending some of their retirement years volunteering.

  The Durkee family relies on each other for support in caring for both of their parents.

  Because of health needs Paul and Marjorie have had to move from their retirement cottage to a nursing care facility (Paul) and assisted living (Marjorie).

  Marci Bernstein fought a medical system which had given up on her mother. Shirley now lives in assisted living facility in Southern California.

  Members of the ElderSpirit over-55 co-housing community in Abingdon, Va. have agreed to be family for each other as they grow older.
